Did you know…
On October 3, 2009 the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park was opened. Formerly a 19th century railroad bridge that caught fire in the 1970s and left abandoned, this pedestrian walkway was made possible by a non-profit organization’s triumph against all odds. The bridge is 1.28 miles long making it the longest elevated pedestrian walkway in the world. The bridge deck stands 212 feet above the Hudson River and affords its visitors breathtaking views of the Hudson Valley.
